Deutsche Post Offers Free Messenger With Simsme

Deutsche Post is now launching a free messenger service in app stores. With the “SIMSme” app, customers can securely send text messages, pictures, videos, contacts, and information about their location, as well as using WhatsApp, for example. What makes SIMSme special, however, is its high and reliable data protection. All messages are automatically encrypted at the sender’s end and can only be decrypted by the recipient. This so-called end-to-end encryption makes it impossible for third parties to read them. All data is stored exclusively on servers in Germany, and messages are deleted from the servers after delivery to the recipient.

User retains his rights at SIMSme

While many other messenger services require customers to consent to the distribution of all content, including images, without restriction, in all media formats and across all channels, SIMSme users retain their rights.

In-app purchase self-destruct function

Those who want to send particularly sensitive messages can also equip SIMSme with a self-destruct function for this data for €0.89. This can then be applied to all messages as needed and provides additional security for those users who do not want their data and images to be permanently visible online.

Quick registration

The new SIMSme app is now available for free download for Apple iPhones and Android smartphones from the respective stores. Registration for SIMSme is done using only your mobile number. Deutsche Post needs this number to verify your account and to compare it with other contacts from your local phone book using encrypted data. This way, customers can find out which contacts from their phone book also use SIMSme and with whom they can therefore communicate securely. If a recipient is not yet registered with SIMSme, users can invite them to register with SIMSme directly from the app via SMS, Facebook, or email.
